This page is designed to let you know the details of how we operationalize our extremely high regard for your privacy and security in your interactions with our company and our website.  It's a lot of detail.

THE SPIRIT OF THE POLICY

At Working with Power, LLC dba Lisenbury.com, we believe deeply in intimacy, which occurs best when privacy is protected.  Your online privacy is no exception. Clear communication and consent are also key tools in cultivating both safety and excitement, so we’ve created this Privacy Policy to explain how we think about and what we do to protect your privacy and what you can expect as a user of this website.


DEFINITIONS

“You” or “Your” means you, as a browser or user of the website at www.lisenbury.com and its pages that may be hosted by other services, as detailed in section 5.

In this policy, when we refer to “us” or say “our” or “we” we’re talking about Michele Lisenbury Christensen and her employees, contractors or agents, Working with Power, LLC as an organization, and www.lisenbury.com.   

“Our site” refers to www.lisenbury.com and subsidiary pages hosted by other services.


YOUR CONSENT AND OUR USE OF YOUR DETAILS

VISITORS’ INFORMATION:  When you browse our site, we automatically receive your computer’s IP (internet protocol) address so that we can understand our users and their needs better.  For instance, we learn what browser and operating system you use. In turn, we use that information to optimize our site for your best browsing experience. Our cookie policy popup gives you the opportunity to leave the site or give affirmative consent for us to gather this data.

SUBSCRIBERS’ INFORMATION:  On the site, many visitors request our free tools for going deeper in love and sex, such as special reports, checklists, and how-tos.  To send you one of these free products, we ask for your email address and name. When you register with us in this way, you are granting consent for us to contact you via email with more free, useful information and with occasional notifications about other products and services that may be of interest.  We also, at times, ask our subscribers to let us know more about them. When you click through from an email to a form where you enter more information about yourself, your relationships, and your interests, we keep that information in strictest confidence. We never rent or sell our subscriber information to anyone else.  
 

We do, on occasion, share products or services or information about a book, speaker, or program that we don’t produce ourselves, in the interest of adding value to our community beyond our own strengths.  

 

WITHDRAWING CONSENT TO E-MAIL CONTACT:  Subscribers are always free to unsubscribe at any time and to register disinterest in any given offer.  The link to unsubscribe or to update subscription preferences is included at the bottom of every email, or you may email michele@lisenbury.com to withdraw your consent to be contacted for any reason.

CUSTOMERS’ INFORMATION:  When you purchase a course, product, or service from our site, as part of the transaction we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. This enables us to both fulfill your order and offer support after your purchase.  Your entry of this data signifies your consent for us to receive it and to use it in this limited way.

None of these details are ever shared in any way with any outside entity or individual for other purposes.  


HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED AND BY WHOM

We use best-in-class vendors end-to-end in our business, and the most sensitive issue to us is your safety, so each of these vendors is carefully vetted and reviewed annually for performance not only with our data and yours, but overall in the rest of their business.

These vendors’ terms of service and privacy policies govern their use of your data when it’s provided to them for the purposes of buying something, scheduling with, or staying in touch with us.  Our vendors never use your details for any purpose beyond helping us help you, but from a legal standpoint, we want to clearly communicate that their location may change the jurisdiction of their agreement with you, and that even when you start on our website, entering information into, for instance, a shopping cart provided by Stripe, puts you in a relationship with Stripe itself, in addition to your relationship with Lisenbury.com.  When you choose to proceed with a transaction, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) where the service provider or its data facility are located.

  • For example, if you are located in the UK, and Stripe is located in the US, your transaction information may be subject to disclosure under United States law, including but not limited to The Patriot Act.  

In this section, you can click on the name of any company to be linked to their terms of service and privacy policies.  For these providers, you are welcome to read their privacy policies if you desire to understand the details of how they will handle and safeguard your personal information.

Visitor data is gathered by our web host, Squarespace.  

Subscribers’ data is managed by ActiveCampaign, our customer relationship management provider.  

Our courses are hosted by, and the transactions to purchase them are managed by Teachable.

Private individual, couple, and group clients’ agreements and payment information are managed through and stored at Dubsado.  

Appointment scheduling is managed through Acuity, which sometimes includes making payment through Acuity as well.

Some visitors, subscribers, customers, and clients will fill out forms, surveys, quizzes or questionnaires hosted by TypeForm.


Through all our third-party services, all financial information is collected by and electronic payments are processed by Stripe.  Neither people nor servers at Working with Power, LLC’s ever have access to your credit card information at any point in the process.  

If, for your convenience, any representative of Working With Power, LLC receives credit or debit card information from you via telephone, we have strict policies to keep your information secure.  Specifically, we follow the PCI-DSS guidelines detailed here for card-not-present transactions; that is: the details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure terminal and no details whatsoever are written down on paper, typed into any other application or format, or saved in any way.  

We know there’s no way to 100% guarantee that electronic storage or data transmission will be secure, but we’ve sought the safest systems we could provide.  In particular, we’ll highlight that your peace of mind and ours are protected by Stripe’s use of secure socket layer technology (SSL) to encrypt your sensitive financial data.  They store all transaction data with AES-256 encryption. As a direct payment gateway, Stripe voluntarily adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  The stringent PCI-DSS requirements and Stripe’s additional security standards and practices help ensure your financial information is secure at all times. Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.  More information is available here.

CREDIT CARD OR OTHER FINANCIAL DETAILS


THE ONLY TWO REASONS WE WOULD DISCLOSE OR SHARE YOUR DATA

We would only disclose your personal information to another entity under these limited circumstances:

  1. If we were required by law to do so.

  2. If our site or business were to be acquired by or to merge with another company, your information might be transferred to the new owners so in service of continuing to support our clients and customers.  

Under no other circumstances would we sell, rent, trade, share, or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third parties, including but not limited to advertisers or strategic partners.  Your privacy is a firm limit for us.

When you click on links on our site, they may direct you to another website or application.  When you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, your activity and data cease to be governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

We cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of other sites you visit.  We encourage you to read their terms of service and privacy policies.


DATA SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not lost, misused, or inappropriately accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.


We use cookies to customize and streamline the user experience on our company, course, and client websites. Potential scenarios:

  • Our client portal uses a login cookie so private clients need not re-enter their username and password each time they use the portal.  

  • Tracking pixels help us analyze website traffic volume, sources, and content popularity.

  • Remarketing pixels from Facebook and Google help us serve more of our favorite people by leading us to new visitors with similar interests to our current clients’ and subscribers’.
